About Holiday Landscapes
My name is Brian Gudzevich, and I like to spread joy into my neighborhood in Stoneham, Massachusetts. I put together a series of light displays for various holidays. My two biggest displays are Christmas and Halloween, but I also do smaller displays for Valentine's, Saint Patricks, Easter, and the summer patriotic holidays. Come by and enjoy them any time to like!
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you do it?
Simply, because I like to. I enjoy the lights, and I enjoy making Christmas a little brighter for other people as well.
How do you do it?
Time, patients, and being a computer geek doesn't hurt. It's actually a mad rush for me to get things setup, as I also do a large Halloween display that I need to take down first. I also try to have the Christmas display up by Thanksgiving, so that gives me less than four weeks to change displays. Needless to say, I never make it on time, working on the display by myself.
Do you do this by yourself?
Yes, yes I do. Which is usually why I am behind schedule.
What about the computer control?
That is a system I built. I made the boards from designs I found on the Internet. They connect into a computer in my basement which controls my lights as well as my radio station.
Where did you get the name "The Lights at Wolf Hill" from?
Well, I really happen to like Wolves. Don't ask me why, I just do. A couple years ago, I was trying to come up with a name for my Halloween display that included wolves in the name. I came up with Wolf Hill Manor. I liked the name so much, I decided to tie the name into my other displays as well. Wolf Hill is, of course, a fictional location. There is no hill called "Wolf Hill" in Stoneham. Though I wish there was.
Where do you store all this stuff?
That's a tough one. I'm out of space. Right now, everything is spread around the house. My hope this summer is to clean a lot out of the basement, and turn that into a massive decoration storage area.
How do you afford all this stuff?
That's another tough one. I don't have a lot of money, so I just add a little each year.
