Snow and Rain

ChristmasI may not see my Christmas lights again until spring! Once again, it snowed, this time followed by rain. And with the rain, out went my ground fault circuit interrupters. Now it's going to freeze tonight. Not fun. To make it worse, I have a huge snowbank in front of the yard, blocking the view of most of the mini trees and other decorations. I need to see if there is something I can do about that. If anyone near Stoneham has access to a tractor that could be used to move snow, it would be greatly appreciated if you could loan your services. :-) Hopefully I can find something to do with it, and have it out of the way in the next few days. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Everything is back up and running

ChristmasAfter last nights wet conditions, I got everything back up and running again. It looks like the main problem was my mini trees up front were blowing the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. Those things are essential for safety, but they sure cause a lot of problems when trying to run a Christmas Display. Sorry to anyone who may have had come by yesterday. Tonight the wind is picking up, and the forecast says we have several inches of snow coming tomorrow, with the potential of a foot this weekend. At least it won't blow the breakers, but it may bury parts of my display. I'll post back here as it happens.

18 Days Until Christmas Lighting - It Has Begun

ChristmasHalloween is finally put away, and the Christmas Display has started to go up. I haven't made a lot of progress yet, and I had to finish packing up Halloween first. This was delayed a little because of the remains of the storm Noel. So far, I should be on schedule. I got the frame up today for my arch lights over the driveway. I hope to get the lights up tomorrow. There is more rain coming though, so again, this may be delayed. I also sorted through some of my Christmas lights, seeing what the Squirrels damaged. I'm going to need to replace a lot of lights this year. I hope I can afford it. I'll try to get those pictures uploaded soon.

21 Days until Christmas Lighting - Day After Halloween

ChristmasWell, it's the day after Halloween. It was busy. We had an estimated 80 to 100 trick or treaters, about as many adults, and six dogs. I'm still exhasted. We had some technical issues, one of my fog machines died, my witch stopped moving her head, and one of my talking skeletons stopped moving his jaw. Oh, and I blew a circuit breaker. :-) Overall, it was fun, and everyone enjoyed it.

Just about ready, for the most part.

HalloweenIt looks like things, relatively speaking, are running on schedule. I will be unveiling part of the 2007 Halloween display on Monday, October 1st. The porch will be ready to go. Be sure to keep checking it out, as I will be adding more as we get closer to Halloween. The side of the house, where my light display is, will also be ready for Monday. In fact, it's pretty well ready now. The only area that won't be ready for the October 1st lighting is the cemetery. That area just happens to be sitting under an area of the house where the gutter needs to be replaced. The gutter company is expected on Wednesday, and I will get started on the cemetery right after that is done.
