The 2007 Christmas display is done for this year. Thanks to all who stopped by. Now it is time to start taking it down. I'll be posting some photos and videos of this years display in the coming weeks. This was an unusual year. I've never seen that much snow before Christmas, parts of the display were almost totally buried. The display was down about five nights due to rain, and I almost lost the last night too. My new protections I added prevented a lot of Squirrel damage. Though they still managed to do some damage, it wasn't too bad. On top of everything else, one of my cats got very sick just before Christmas, and that has really brought my mood down. He is doing much better now, but has a long road ahead of him.
My apologies to everyone who came to see the display between 5:30 and 8:00 on Christmas day. It looks like I screwed up on the scheduling, and the animations were not working. I was at a family members house for dinner, and came home at 8:00, and found the display was not working right. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused for anyone who drove over to see my display. I'll be sure it is working every night from here on. If anyone who came by during those hours wishes to see it, but won't be around during the normal running hours, don't hesitate to contact me, I'll be happy to light it up at an odd hour.
Though we have had a lot of snow, the Christmas display is still up and running. Though there is a snow bank near the driveway blocking part of the view, everything is lighting, and it looks great even with so much snow. I'm happy that it didn't get completely buried. I may have a problem getting the display down though in January. This could make the Valentines display interesting.
I may not see my Christmas lights again until spring! Once again, it snowed, this time followed by rain. And with the rain, out went my ground fault circuit interrupters. Now it's going to freeze tonight. Not fun. To make it worse, I have a huge snowbank in front of the yard, blocking the view of most of the mini trees and other decorations. I need to see if there is something I can do about that. If anyone near Stoneham has access to a tractor that could be used to move snow, it would be greatly appreciated if you could loan your services. :-) Hopefully I can find something to do with it, and have it out of the way in the next few days. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
